Dance Competition

The Shikshiyan School participated in the KON BANEGA CITY STAR dance competition held on 24th June, 2018 at KINGDOM OF DREAMS, OPEN THEATRE Sector- 29, Gurugram. Our U-12 team comprising of Prachi, Archisha, Khushi Yadav, Yanshika Kataria, Avika, Preeti Kumari, Akshita Kaushik emerged as the champions by bagging the 1st position out of 20 competing schools. The students were awarded and congratulated for their outstanding performance by the School Management.

Beach party

The Shikshiyan School organised a beach party for the students of pre primary wing. Various programs were organised for the students such as fun race, ramp walk, dance splash pool. Students were given information about the beach and its life. There were different counters for students like Bhel puri counter, coconut water, chat counter, which they enjoyed thoroughly.





Mall Visit

The students of The Shikshiyan School went for a mall visit to the Ambience Mall on 15th & 17th May 2018. The students walked through the mall and observed the working of the place. The students enjoyed themselves thoroughly and had a great time.





Show and Tell

Show and Tell competition was held in the school premises on 10th may 2018 for the students of I & II. Students presented various moral stories with the objects which were splendid and mesmerising.





Labour Day

In India Labour day is celebrated to honour all the working women & men. Labour Day is celebrated on the 1st of May every year. It is also known as International Worker’s Day. A special assembly was conducted to honour all the working staff of school. Students presented a special dance performance. As a token of love, students gave gifts and cards to the working staff.





EARTH DAY

Earth Day is celebrated every year on 22nd April, 2018 to worship and thank Mother Nature for the immense gifts we receive from it. It is a global phenomenon and is widely celebrated throughout the world. The present day demands a cohesive, united effort from all global citizens to protect and preserve our Earth for future generations. The Shikshiyan celebrated Earth Day through a special assembly presentation consisting of speeches, stories and poems. It also included a mesmerizing dance, music and a Nukkad Natak performance on the theme of Protecting Our Earth. A plethora of activities were also organized and conducted for the students of Pre- Primary and Primary wings such as badge making, thumb printing on T-shirts and poster making. The Principal Mrs. Geeta dagar briefed the students about the importance of protecting Mother Earth and planted new trees in the Campus





Inter-house Kabaddi competition for girls

An Inter-House Kabaddi Competition was organised for girls of classes 6 to 8 from 9th to 11th April. The final match was played between Dhairya house and Gyan house. It was a tough match and Gyan house emerged victorious with flying colours. Lubhansa , Arpita of class VIII and Janvi , Riya (VII) were the top performers. Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar felicitated the winners with certificates and encouraged the winners and participants with her words of wisdom.





Inter-house Kabaddi competition for boys

An inter-house kabaddi competition was organised for boys of classes 6 to 8 from 2nd to 4th April. All the teams participated with enthusiasm and competitive spirit. The final match was played between Prakash House and Gyan House in which the Gyan House emerged as winners. The key performers were Himanshu Tyagi, Utsav Tyagi and Mohit of Class 8th. Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar felicitated the winners with certificates and encouraged the winners and participants with her words of wisdom.





Inter-house Basketball competition for boys

The Shikshiyan School organised an Inter-House Basket Ball Competition for the boys of classes 6 to 8 from 17th -19th April. All four houses participated in this competition with zeal and enthusiasm displaying great sportsman spirit. The Final match was played between Prakash and Dhairya House in which Prakash House emerged as the winner. The key players were Anshul, Deepak Sanjay and Nishant of Class 8th. Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar felicitated the winners with certificates and encouraged the winners and participants with her words of wisdom





BAISAKHI

The festival of Baisakhi brings about joy, prosperity and happiness in the lives of people associated with the profession of agriculture. It is the time of harvest where a farmer reaps the benefits of his labour and hard work. The Shikshiyan School celebrated Baisakhi for classes Nursery- II through special presentations and performances. The students delivered speeches and poems. There was a mesmerizing song and dance performance which enthralled the students thoroughly. The students enjoyed themselves and learnt about the importance of the festival.





Farewell

The class 12th students received a spectacular farewell which was organised by Class 11th students. The students had meticulously planned and orchestrated many fun filled activities for their seniors. They presented an interesting collection of songs, dances and skit and enthralled the audiences with the performances.
One of the highlights was the Mr and Miss Shikshiyan ceremony. All the students participated with full vigour and spirits. The participants went through various rounds which were fascinating and enjoyable. Finally, Chirag( XII Science) and Tanu(XII H7umanities) were chosen as Mr. and Miss Shikshiyan amidst a thunderous applause.
Principal Mam graced the occasion with her presence. Our Chairman Sir extended best wishes and words of wisdom to the outgoing batch.





CBSE Regional Science Exhibition

In continuation with our studens’ quest for scientific excellence, our team participated in CBSE Regional Science Exhibition organised on 23-25 January 2018 at DPS Sec 45. This competition had representation from all schools of Haryana. Amongst all the schools, our science model got selected for the second round. It was a tough shortlisting procedure and the students must be congragulated for their undiluted efforts.
Amongst all schools of Haryana, The Shikshiyan School got selected for the second round. Nishant Jhangu and Kapil Grewal represented our school and made a Hydraulic Crane. The judges were very impressed by the sincere efforts of our students. We heartily congragulate our students for showing the right scientific temper and attitude to be selected amongst all the schools of Haryana.





KIDS DAY OUT

The Shikshiyan School organised a ‘Kids day out’ for the students of classes VI - VIII at KINGDON OF DREAMS on 1st February, 2018. The students had a great time and it was a memorable experience for all. At Shikshiyan we strive for holistic development and continuous, regular excursions and outings are an integral part of the curriculum.





Republic Day

A special assembly was organised on account of the Republic Day. All students participated with fervour and enthusiasm. The 5th grade students performed a wonderful dance. There were speeches and poem recitation by our students of 9th grade. Some competiton that were organised were:
1. Essay on Republic Day
2. Essay on National Bird.
For nursery and prep students, “Colouring of National Flag” competition was organised.
Principal Madam felicitated the winners and offered her words of wisdom to the enthusiastic students.





Visit to Isckon Temple

In its quest for holistic development The Shikshiyan School arranged Educational visits to Isckon for its students of class Nursery. The idea is to make them aware, enhance their knowledge and provide a platform for fun filled learning with enjoyment.
These visits are so planned in variety at the Shikshiyan that each and every child gathers vital information, knowledge about all spheres of life. The Students enjoyed themselves thoroughly and cherished each and every moment of the visit.





Visit to Railway Museum

In its quest for holistic development The Shikshiyan School arranged Educational visits to Railway Museum for its students of classes I-V. The idea is to make them aware, enhance their knowledge and provide a platform for fun filled learning with enjoyment. Through such visits students explore, enrich and experience the minute details about the working and functioning of such institutions. The Students enjoyed themselves thoroughly and cherished each and every moment of the visit.





Christmas Celebration

The Shikshiyan School celebrated Christmas on 22nd December,2017 in the School Campus. Christmas marks the birth of Lord Jesus who sacrificed his entire life for the service of humanity and Mankind. He taught people to love, Respect and care for each other. He propagated the model of harmonious loving among people belonging to varied countries, religions and cultures. At Shikshiyan the Celebration was in the form of a special Assembly which consisted of a carol, Western Dance, Speeches, Skit (On Jesus Life) and Poems. The day ended with a plethora of activities such as Letter to Santa, Secret Santa and Cotton Bud Activity.
The Winners were awarded with Certificates and accolades by the Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar.





SPORTICUS 2017

The Shikshiyan School celebrated its much awaited superlative Annual Sports and Cultural Meet-SPORTICUS on 2nd December, 2017 in the school campus. The program consisted of 30 performances of the highest quality. The International theme was displayed through the dances such as Chinese, Russian, African and Flamenco. Various programmes such as Cross fit, Hoopla drill, Taekwondo, Pyramid and Yoga displayed the physical capabilities and qualities of the Shikshiyanites. Kabbadi sensation and Maestro Mr. Anup Kumar (Captain-Indian Team, U-Mumba) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest with his benign presence. The Chairman Mr. Mukul Dagar presented the Annual Report of the School telling about the successes and achievements of the school in all aspects such as Academics, Co-Curricular and Sports. Track and Field events such as 100 m, 200 m, 4X100 m relay and various Fun Races such as Bag pack, Makeup, Hurdle, Crawling races mesmerized and entertained the audience thoroughly. The Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar applauded the participants, teachers and instructors for their efforts. The program ended with a vote of thanks by the teacher.





Inter School Kabbadi Competition

The Shikshiyan School participated in the Inter School Kabbadi competition held at Roseland Public School, Gurugram on 25th November, 2017. Our team Participated in the U-14, 17, 19 categories. Our all three teams emerged as champions bagging the 1st Position. The students were felicitated as they brought laurels to the school once again by winning all matches comprehensively. Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar appreciated them for their efforts.





IMCT

The Shikshiyan School participated in the IMCT Kabbadi competition held on 18th November, 2017 at S.N Sideshwar School, Gurugram. Our team Participated in the U-14, 17 &19 categories. Keeping up with the tradition Shikshiyan emerged victorious in all three categories bagging the 1st Position. The Shikshiyan won the matches comprehensively. The Students were felicitated with trophies and certificates. Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar congratulated the students for their success and achievement.

Educational Visit

The students of class prep visited the National Rail Museum on 27th October, 2017. Educational visits play an integral part in the holistic development of the child.
These visits are so planned in variety at the Shikshiyan that each and every child gathers vital information, knowledge about all spheres of life. The Students learnt a lot about the working and functioning of Indian Railways. They took a joy ride in the train, which was enthralling and exciting.
The students were overjoyed and mesmerised by the visit.





DIWALI

Diwali – Festival of Lights is considered to be the most important and prestigious festival of the India. It brings about joy, happiness and is enjoyed by the people throughout the country. The Shikshiyan School celebrated Diwali on 17th October, 2017 in the school campus. The day began with a special assembly consisting of speeches, poems, songs & dances. The senior students who conducted the assembly gave detailed explanation, insight and information about Diwali. The assembly was followed by a plethora of activities, such as Diya making, card decoration etc. The students thoroughly enjoyed the celebrations and greeted each other.





Career Work Shop

A workshop was organised by Head word Publication on choosing the Right Career for the students of classes IX-XII on 28th October, 2017.
Renowned councillor conducted the session who briefed the students about choosing the high career and motivated them to set goals, aspire to achieve them through persistent hard work, dedication and devotion. The session was very informative as it gave the students detailed insight about various career options available for them.



Dussehra

The Shikshiyan School celebrated Dussehra with zeal and enthusiasm on 27th September, 2017 in the school campus. The Students prepared and presented a special assembly comprising of speeches, poems, song and dance. The Students were briefed about the importance of the festival and how it is celebrated. The Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar graced the occasion with her benign presence.



CBSE Cluster (KABBADI)

The Shikshiyan School participated in the CBSE Cluster games at Panipat on 22nd-25th September in the event of Kabaddi. The U-17 and U-19 team participated in the event. The U-17 team again brought laurels for the school by securing the 3rd position out of 150 competing schools.
The team performed exceptionally well to emerge on the podium. The main performers were Rohit, Ritik, Harsh Janghu and Ajay Tyagi.
The Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar congratulated the awardees and appreciated them for their achievement.



Teacher’s day Celebration

Teacher’s play an integral role and a inevitable part of a student’s life. They create, mould and transform a child into a genius who is ready to accept the challenges of the demanding, globalised world. To honour and facilitate the teachers, The Shikshiyan School celebrated Teacher’s day with joy.
The students of senior wing presented a special assembly consisting of speeches, poems, dance and songs. The students gave titles to teachers and presented them with handmade cards and gifts. The Principal Ms. Geeta Dagar spoke on the importance of a teacher in a student’s life and appreciated the teacher’s for their efforts.





Kabaddi Competition

The Kabbadi team of The Shikshiyan again brought laurels to the school by emerging as Champions in the District games held at gurgaon on 27th August 2017.
The School won in the U-17 category by defeating Farukhnagar and Pataudi respectively by handsome margins. The key performers were Rohit Tyagi, Ritik,Yogesh, Ajay.
The Students were felicitated by the Chairman Mr. Mukul Dagar Kudos to the Kabbadi Team !





Independence Day

The Shikshiyan School celebrated Independence day in the school Campus through a plethora of activities and a special assembly. The day commenced with a special assembly by Dhairya House which consisted of speeches, poems, patriotic songs and dance.

The students of Nur-II came up dressed as National leaders for fancy dress competition. The celebration continued in the form of activities such as Draw, Paint, Colour and composition on National Symbols for classes III-V.

An Inter House English Declamation on the topic “Should Patriotism be taught or Does it come Naturally to us” Was conducted for classes VI-VIII. As Inter House English debate Competition on “Is China a threat to India” was conducted for classes IX-XII. The winners and awardees were felicitated by the Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar. She briefed the students on the same through her words of wisdom.





MRIS- (Inter School Competition)

The Shikshiyan School participated in the ‘India Calling Competition’ held on 10th & 11th August at Manav Rachna International School,Sec 46, Gurugram. The Shikshiyan team participated in a plethora of activities such as Saaz, Sajawat, Folk Dance and Kabbadi. The U-14 team of Kabaddi bagged the First position. Our team defeated all the teams comprehensively. In semi Final, The Shikshiyan School Defeated Sharda International School by 68-18 and won the Final by a handsome margin of 85-10 defeating Lions Public School. Sahil Tyagi, Paras Kumar (Best Defender),Deepanshu Tyagi-(Best Player of Tournament) and Vishal Tyagi were the main performer of the tournament.





DPSG Inter School Ball Badminton Competition

The Shikshiyan School participated in the DPSG – Inter School Ball Badminton Competition held on 5.8.2017 at DPSG School. The Girls and Boys team participated in the event. The Girls team performed brilliantly by securing the second position out of 10 teams. Our girls defeated Laxmi International School,AVR School and DPSG School to emerge victorious. The main performes were Simmi Choudhary, Isha Tyagi,Anshil and Versha. The awardees were felicitated by the Chief guest with Trophies and Certificates.





Inter School Competition –DPSG

The Shikshiyan School participated in the SPECTRUM Ist DPSG Inter School Cultural Competition held on 29th July 2017. The Shikshiyan participated in various age groups and categories of events like Math’s Skit, Tux Paint etc. The students of the school performed well in all events. The noticeable performance were YUVRAJ (III) and KUNAL (IV) who bagged the THIRD position in the Computer Tux Paint Competition out of 20 Participating schools. The winners were awarded with Certificates.





Monsoon Week

Monsoon stimulates our mind soul and refreshes the nature. It energies and rejuvenates our senses. It is a season of happiness, joy and fulfillment. Keeping this in mind and in its quest for holistic development and academic learning. The Shikshiyan School conducted a Monsoon Week for its tiny tots from 24th – 28th July 2017. Various activities such as Clouds & Rain(Craft Activities),Color the umbrella, Hindi Recitation Competition, Raindrops (Finger Printing activity)followed by a Rain Dance Party to end the celebration. The Students learnt and enjoyed a lot through the activities.





Annual Prize Distribution

The Shikshiyan School Sector 108 Gurugram conducted its 3rd Annual Prize Distribution on 22nd July, 2017 in the school auditorium. The academic, co-scholastic and sports achievers of the past session were felicitated and appreciated through trophies and certificates. The students were presented awards on General Proficiency I, II, III, Application award, Best All Rounder, Chairman’s medal and Co-Curricular awards. The school choir presented a welcome song and an Indian music song followed by the Orchestra performance. A dance performance memorized the audience as well Presentation describing and displaying school’s achievements, results, and activities were shown to the audience. The Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar gave the awards to the students motivated the students to achieve more and scale new heights in future.





Spectrum

The Shikshiyan School ,Sec – 108, Gurugram conducted its 2nd Annual EXHIBITION- SPECTRUM on 15th July 2017 in the School Campus. The Students ranging from all grades from I- VIII displayed and presented their Projects, Models, Charts of different subjects.
The Parents witnessed, appreciated and applauded the understanding, preparation and knowledge of the students. The students and teachers were congratulated by the respected Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar for their dedicated efforts and cooperation. The various topics exhibited included:

    Mother’s Day

    The Shikshiyan School, sec.-108, Gurugram celebrated Mother’s Day on May 12, 2017 in the school campus. The day began with a special assembly conducted by the Primary wing consisting of beauty dance, song performances followed by speeches and poems on Mother. A Mother is considered nest to God, is an epitome of love, sacrifice and generosity. She is irreplaceable. Mother’s day is an occasion which inspires children to understand the worth and importance of Mothers and tells them to love and respect them all times and stages of life. Several activities were also conducted on the day and the winners were felicitated by the Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar.





    Fun Race Competition

    The Shikshiyan School organized a Fun & Run Competition on 5th May 2017 for classes Pre Nursery-II at school campus. The students were engaged in various kind of races such as Ball race, Kangaroo race etc. The winners were awarded with certificates by the Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar.





    Mall Visit

    The students of Shikshiyan School visited the Ambience Mall, Gurugram on 9th & 11th May respectively. Classes I, II, III and IV visited the mall. The children walked through the entire Mall and visited various showrooms. It was an enjoyable experience for the students as they gathered information about the place. The visit ended with an ice cream party at the shop.





    Spellathon Competition

    Formation of words and spellings plays an important role in development and betterment of English language. Keeping this in mind The Shikshiyan School organized a Spellathon competition for classes I-V on 26th April, 2017 to hone the skills of word and spelling formation of its students.     Colour Week

    The Kindergarten wing of The Shikshiyan School organised Colour week for the students of classes Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Prep from 18th- 21st April 2017. On Red Day the children pinned a red rose on their shirt and brought a Red fruit from home. On Yellow Day children came dressed in yellow attire and brought a Yellow Sweet item from home. On Blue Day i.e. Earth Day the Children did thumb painting on A3 sheet and brought a toy or a balloon of blue colour.






    Earth Day

    The Shikshiyan School Celebrated Earth Day on 21st April 2017 in the School Campus. The day began with a special assembly by the students of Primary Wing which consisted of speeches, Poems, Song and a dance Performance. The students spoke about the degrading condition of our mother Earth, Global warming and various kinds of Pollution. The Assembly was followed by a plethora of activities like Thumb Painting, Collage Making, Mud pudding, Debate and Power Point Presentations. The Winners were awarded with certificates by the Principal Ms. Geeta Dagar






    Inter House U-14 Basketball Competition

    An inter House U-14 Basketball Competition was conducted between 17th – 19th April 2017. Prakash House emerged victorious by defeating Dhairya , Gyan and Vivek House . Saloni Janghu, Tanisha and Tanya were the key Performers of the Prakash House.






    Inter House U-19 Kabbadi Competition

    An Inter House U-18 kabbadi Competition was conducted between 10th- 14th April 2017. All the four houses Vivek, Prakash, Dhairya and Gyan competed hard among themselves. Vivek House emerged victorious by winning all matches comprehensively. The Star Performer of the tournament were Vishal Tyagi, Sahil and Deepanshu.



    Activities

    As we begin our new session with enthusiasm and zeal. Our main focus will be on academics but we cannot deny the fact that co-curricular activities are as much important as academics to cater to the overall development of the child. Some activities were organized for the following classes on 31st March 2017.

    INTER SCHOOL FOLK SONG COMPTITION

    Students of the Shikshiyan took part in an inter-school folk song competition on 3 Feb, 2017 organized by the IMCT(Initiative for Moral and Cultural Training Foundation) at the Leisure Valley Park, Gurgaon. In a competition where more than 30 schools participated, The Shikshiyan bagged 3rd position receiving praise and appreciation from one and all present there. The team comprised of young children from class 3 to 6. The students presented a folk song from Kerala which is sung on the occasion of famous boat race. Dressed in iconic cream and golden attire representing a true Keralite sririt . The students looked absolutely adorable. The Principal Ms. Geeta Dagar applauded the performers and motivated them to do better in future.



    INTER SCHOOL PATRIOTIC FOLK DANCE COMPETITION

    IMCT (Initiate for Moral and Cultural Training Foundation) organized an inter-School Folk Dance Competition on 2nd Feb, 2017 at the Leisure valley park. Various Institutes of repute across city took part in the prestigious competition. The Shikshiyan made its presence felt to all present there by giving a mesmerizing performance. Students from 5-9 class participated in the event.



    Republic Day

    The shikshiyan school celebrated 68th Republic day in the school campus. A special assembly was conducted by the student of Prakash house which was atterded by the chief guest Col. Paulose Mo. The students presented speeches on How and when the constitution came into effect? How can we formulate and make amendments to the constitution? The students enthralled the audience with a patriotic song and dance which was followed by distribution of awards to achieve of sports and academics.





    Language Lab

    The shikshiyan school in collaboration with Britannica&Sanako have introduced, the Language Lab for the development,betterment and growth of the Global Language i.e. - English. English is like a necessity in today’s world without which survival is difficult. Language lab enhances pronunciation, vocabulary and fluency of the language. It acts as a great tool for the growth of the language.





    Christmas

    The Shikshiyan school celebrated Christmas on 23rd December 2016 at the school campus. It is a festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. A special assembly was conducted by the Gyan House comprising of Christmas hymns, carols, dance and speeches. The students of the Pre-primary dressed up as Santa Clause and performed cotton dip painting activity. The primary classes wrote a letter to Santa asking for gifts and wishes. An Inter House Carol singing competition was conducted for the senior wing in which Vivek House emerged victorious. The Priests were the Chief guests of the celebrations and delivered a speech on the topic.





    IMCT-Kabbadi Competition

    The Shikshiyan school participated in the Institute of Moral and Cultural Training Kabbadi competition held at Rotary Public school on 22nd December 2016. The U-14 and U-19 team of boys emerged as the Champions in both age categories wining all matches comprehensively. The students were presented with Medals an trophy by the Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar.





    Talent Hunt Competiton

    A Talent Hunt Competition was organised for the students of classes Nursery-II on 2nd December 2016. The idea of the competition was to identify, train and develop the co-curricular skills of the students. Students were prepared for dance and singing performances in western and indian category. All the students performed brilliantly and expressed themselves thoroughly on the stage. The competition ended with the principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar’s speech and distribution of certificates.

    The shikshiyan school organised an english story telling competition for the students of classes VI, VII, VIII on 6th December 2016 in the school auditorium. The idea of compettion was the enharcement of spoker and presentation skills of the students. As many as 6 particiapates participated from each class and section.     Football Tournament

    The students of the shikshyan school participated in the Franrock Football Tournament held at Palam Vihar, Gurgaon. The school participated in the U-10 and U-13 category. Both the teams played well and won two matches and lost one match each. The main performance of the team were Deepanshu Janghu and Yogesh Yadav.





    Annual Day- ANVESHNA – The Perpetual Quest

    The Shikshiyan School has conducted its 5th Annual Day- ANVESHNA- THE PERPETUAL QUEST on 19th November 2016 at the school. The program commenced with the traditional lightning of the lamp by the Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar. The School Choir then welcomed the guests and parents with a Welcome Song. Mr. Sanjay SehrawatACP- Crime Branch Delhi was the Chief Guest of the function. The Founder and Visionary, Mr. Brijesh Dagar also graced the Occasion with his benign presence. The Program consisted of a plethora ofcultural and International and performances. Cultural acts like Dandiya,Puppet,Rajasthani and Bhangra dances were highly appreciated by the audience. International actssuch as Chinese ribbon,Australian Folk Dance,Yoka(Japnese) Dance mesmerized the audience. The Ballet on Delhi [Since Inception and its History] was the main highlight of the program. The Chairman Mr. Mukul Dagar represented the Annual Report of the session and spoke about the Achievements and Achievers of the School in all areas. The program ended with a vote of Thanks.







    Science Exhibition

    The students from The Shikshiyan School participated in 7th Annual Science Rendezvous, Science exhibition held on 26 Nov 2016 at Pathfinder Global School, Pataudi.

    Students participated at various levels and programmes actively and enthusiastically. Senior students of class 9th Himanshi and Kapil demostrated working model of Emergency electricity generatror, Sheetal and Aishwarya participate in science quiz and Deepak Jha in Debate.

    Junior students from class 5th Radhika and Janvi successfully and enthusiastically presented conceptual model of Solar Water Disinfection; Rishika (Class 5th) and Parth Jhangu (class 4th) participated in Junior Science quiz and fetched award for 3rd position from more than 16 participating school.



    Kabbadi Competition

    The Shikshiyan School participated in the open weight Kabbadi Competition organized by RavinderYadav at Mulhare, Gurgaon on 6th November 2016.     Sports Carnival

    The Shikshiyan School participated in the Sports Carnival organized in Rajputana Sports Foundation at Swiss Cottage School, PalamVihar, Gurgaon on 8th October 2016. Six students of the school participated in the event. Piyush of Class III B bagged the Gold Medal in 1000m where as Ketan Ahlawat of Class IV A and Sweety of Class VI bagged the Silver Medal. Vishu of Class II bagged the Bronze Medal in 800m. The students were appreciated and facilitated by the Chief Guest for their performance.



    Diwali

    The festival of lights is the biggest Indian Festival which is celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm throughout the country. This festival spreads joy and harmony everywhere and enlightens each and every corner of the society. It is that time of the year when cordial relationships are strengthening through greetings. The Shikshiyan School celebrated Diwali in the school campus on 28 october2016. A special assembly was conducted by the students of The Dhraiya House. They presented speeches and poems about Diwali, Its History, Importance,how it is celebrated. The students stressed on the need for a clean and green Diwali by avoiding Crackers. The students of Pre Primary Classes also presented speeches and poems on the topic which were highly appreciated by one andall. The chairman Mr. Mukul Dagar wished all the students A Very Happy Diwali and spoke about the festival.



    Inter House Volleyball Competition

    The Shikshiyan School conducted an Inter House Volleyball Competition for the students of senior classes from 19th October to 22nd October 2016. All the four houses competed vigorously to achieve the top spot. Dhairya house won the Championship defeating Gyan house in the final 21-12, 21-14. All the participants of the four houses were congratulated by the Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar and the winners were honored with certificated. Pradyuman, Ishant and Niwarshu excelled throughout the tournament with their performance.

    Dussehra

    Dussehra is a festival that epitomizes victory of good over evil. It marks the killing of Ravana by lord Ram. The Shikshiyan school celebrated Dussehra in the School campus through a special Assembly. The tiny toddlers presented a skit whereby they enacted a few scenes from the Ramayana. The senior students presented speeches on the topic. The school choil sang a religious song to mark the occasion.



    Astroport Trip

    The shikshiyan School in its endeavor of holistic development and experiential learning organized a trip in collaboration with Space Technology and Education Pvt. Ltd. to Sariska( Astroport) on 5th& 6th October 2016. The Students left early at 6:00a.m. on 5th October 2016. The students had their breakfast on the way of Bhiwadi which was followed by their arrival at the Astroport. The students went for a track on the Aravali hills at evening which was followed by a movie the students had a space observation workshop at night where they used telescopes and d cleared their concepts about the space which was followed by a dance party. The next morning students went for a jungle Safari to the Sarika National Park where they witnessed a wide range of wild animals. It was a memorable trip for the students as they learnt and enjoyed a lot.



    Religious Visit

    The students of Class Nursery& Prep visited the Iskcon Temple for a religious visit on 8th and 9th september2016 respectively. The temple buzzed with the vibes of lord Krishna and Radha as the students entered the temple. The priests narrated the stories of lord Krishna to the students which they enjoyed thoroughly. The students also sang and danced on the Bhajans. They recited poems and shlokas too. At the end the students were offered Prasad and sweets which they accepted and ate gleefully. The students prayed and took blessings from the almighty and left back for school.



    Teacher's Day

    The Shikshiyan School celebrated teacher’s day on 5th September 2016 in the form of special assembly conducted by the students of Prakash House. The students spoke about Dr. S Radhakrishnan and his achievements. They also spoke on the ‘Role of Teacher’s in a student’s life. The senior students presented a skit on a teacher’s life which was enjoyed and appreciated by all.



    Independence Day

    “At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends and when the sole of a nation long suppressed find utterance”. So said Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on the eve of India’s Independence. We pay homage to countless freedom fighters as we celebrate the 70th Independence Day. The students of our school were filled with patriotism and love for our country. Our school presented mélange of patriotic activities which created an atmosphere of national pride. A special assembly was organized followed by a cultural event. Our school choir presented songs on Nationalism, followed by dances by primary wing. Students of senior wing took initiative to let their friends know more about difficult times faced by our countrymen before India finally won freedom at midnight on August 15, 1947. Following activities were organized for our students on the occasion of our Independence day.

    The English Recitation Competition of class I-III was held on 11 August 2016 in the amphitheater. As we all know, a poem is meant for enjoyment. Beauty is the realm of the poetry, the children enjoy the beauty of expression, thoughts, feeling, rhyme, rhythm and music of words. Taking all these facts into consideration the children got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. The children chose a variety of topics for their recitation like nature, trees, flower, mother, teacher etc. with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. The Preliminary round was conducted in the class room from where finalists were selected for the Final Round. Our chairman Mr. Mukul Dagar was invited to witness the competition. He appreciated and applauded at the performance of the participants and the children enjoyed the competition.

    In order to enhance students creativity and English writing skills , we at Shikshiyan organized English Creative writing competition for classes III-VIII on 11th August 2016. Our students participated with full dedication and enthusiasm. The topics were:

    Annual prize distribution

    The Annual Prize Distribution of The Shikshiyan School was conducted on July 30, 2016 at the school auditorium. The academic, co- curricular and sports achievers were felicitated by the management for their achievements throughout the academic session 2015- 16. The various category of awards given include General Proficiency I , II , III for the students achieving best grades or marks . The Application Prize was presented to the students who worked hard diligently and improved throughout the year. The Best All Rounder Award was presented to the students who excelled in all areas of the curriculum throughout the year. The co- curricular and Sports awards were also presented. The Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar congratulated the students and motivated them to work harder to achieve greater heights of success.

    Hiroshima Day

    On August 6, 1945 during world war II (1939-45), an American B-29 bomber dropped world's first deployed atomic bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. The explosion wiped out 90 percent of the city and immediately killed 80,000 people, tens thousands more would later die of radiation exposure. Three days later a second B-29 dropped another atomic bomb on Nagasaki, killing an estimated 40,000 people. Japan's emperor Hirohito announced his country's unconditional surrender in world war II in a radio address on August 15, citing the devastating power of 'a new and most cruel bomb'. Here at The Shikshiyan we organized a special assembly for classes VI-XII on 5th August 2016, Friday. Our students got a chance to impart more knowledge about Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bomb attack.



    Field Trip

    The flora of India is one of the richest in the world due to the world wide range of climate, topology and habitat in the country.
    There is established to be over 16000 species of flowering plants in India which constitute 6-7 percent of the total plant species in the world. The use of plants as a source of medicines has been an integral part of life in India from earliest times.
    India is divided into eight main floristic regions: western Himalayas, Ganges plain, the Deccan, Malabar and the Andaman islands.
    Our students of classes III-V went on a field trip on 4 August 2016 Thursday. Thy enjoyed the trip with full enthusiasm and zeal. They grasped knowledge about the flora of India.



    SPECTRUM (Exhibition)

    The Shikshiyan School organized an exhibition – SPECTRUM for the parents on 16th July 2016 in the school auditorium. The students of classes Nursery to VIII demonstrated their projects, charts, models, presentations and explained about them in their own words. They briefly described about the Procedure, Objectives and Importance of their projects and explained about the usefulness of these for mankind. The highlights of the spectrum were projects on Water Cycle, Solar system, Freedom fighters, Kind of Animals and 3D shapes etc
    The parents attended the spectrum in large numbers and appreciated the students and staff for their commendable performance. The Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar graced the occasion with her presence and congratulated the students and staff.



    World Population Day 2016

    World Population Day is a great event being celebrated all through the world annually on 11th of July. It is celebrated to increase the awareness of the people towards the worldwide population issues. It was first started in the year 1989 by the Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). World population day is celebrated on international level by organizing variety of activities and events to draw attention of mass people to work together on the issues of growing population. Some of the activities include seminar discussions, educational competitions, educational information sessions, essay writing competition, public contests on various topics, poster distribution, .Here in The Shikshiyan School we organized a Poster making competition for classes III-V .Our students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. The Shikshiyan School organized an “Inter House Novel Review Competition” on 11th July 2016 for classes IX to XII. Students From each house presented their power-point presentation with great enthusiasm. The skill was not only to understand but also to present, speak and knowledge gained. Mr. Mukul Dagar, revered chairman, had consented to be the judge. In his speech, he appreciated the efforts put up by the teachersand students.     DOCTOR’S DAY

    Every year 1st July is celebrated as doctor’s Day as a mark of respect for all those doctors who have relentlessly made efforts to sustain the life of their patients against all odds. A special assembly was conducted on 8th July 2016 on Doctor’s Day to make the students aware about the Doctor’s Day and their importance in our life. Following the school prayer, a skit was presented by the student of class 8th. Doctor’s are always next God as they save lives. But in today’s scenario, the profession of doctor’s is a profession of minting money.
    This effort was simply an approach to understand the remarkable advancement in medical science and an appraisal to the noblest profession. Though a thought regarding the increasing professionalism and money minded approach of the Doctor’s was put across the students.

    Summer Vacations

    Summer vacations provide us with a much needed break from the hectic busy schedule and rejuvenate & refresh our mind, body and soul. The students of the senior wing organized and presented a special assembly on summer vacation. The students elaborated as to how we can make our holidays meaningful & memorable? They stressed on the need to learn and acquire new skills during the vacations to grow and develop into better human beings. The students displayed their talents through songs, dances, presentations, speeches and poems.



    Earth Day

    The Earth day was celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm on 22nd April, 2016 at the school campus. The day began with a special assembly by the Prakash House in which the students emphasized on the need for introspection to save and protect Mother Earth. The students performed a skit which was followed by the earth song by the school choir. Later in the day various activities were conducted for all classes in which the students learnt with fun and frolic which are given below in the table.

The students had a great time and it was a memorable experience for all. The students played games and enjoyed riding, sliding etc. At Shikshiyan we strive for holistic development and continuous, regular excursions and outings are an integral part of the curriculum.





    Basant Panchmi

    The students of The Shikshiyan School celebrated Basant Panchami on 12th February 2016 at the School premises.
    A Special assembly was conducted where students of class VIII sang the “SaraswatiVandana” in a melodious tone. Students of Class V presented speeches on the topic. The students offered prayers to Ma Saraswati with flowers and seeked her blessings to provide them with knowledge and wisdom. The Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar graced the occasion with her words of wisdom.





    Sports Week

    The Sports week is being celebrated in The Shikshiyan School from 15.02.16 to 19.02.16 for classes Pre. Nur to Prep. Sports are an integral part of the curriculum at Shikshiyan as holistic development is of utmost importance to us.





    Republic day

    The republic day was celebrated on 25th January,2016 at the school campus with zeal and enthusiasm. The students of the primary and senior wing presented a special assembly on republic Day. The students of classes III & IV recited speeches on What is Constitution?, How was it enacted? And discussed about the role of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in framing the constitution. The students of classes VII & VIII recited patriotic poems followed by speeches on ‘The Preamble’ and ‘What an Ideal citizen should be like?’. The school choir sang patriotic songs and the students of classes III & IV danced to the tunes of patriotic songs. The Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar graced the occasion by sharing her words of wisdom.



    Talent hunt Competition

    A talent hunt was conducted on 13th January for the students of class I and II. The students displayed their skills and talents in the fields of Poem Recitation, Dance, Music, Storytelling etc. All the students participated with joy and vigor exhibiting their innate talents and potential. The students were judged on their confidence, Intonation, Presentation. The principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar congratulated and appreciated the students for their efforts.



    Science Exhibition

    The students of the Shikshiyan school participated in the National Science Exhibition held at DAV School Sec 14 Gurgaon on 18th, 19th and 20th Dec 2015.

    The students of Shikshiyan displayed their scientific knowledge and Creativity through the construction and development of Two working models.

    Chirag and kamal of class X displayed a model on “Swacch Bharat Abhiyan” where they exhibited how the domestic waste can be used to convert and produce bio gas energy which is ecofriendly. Similarly Anjali and prashant of class X and IX respectively made a working model on ‘Industrial Pollution’ and stressed on the importance of effective and efficient waste management of the Industries. The students were highly appreciated by the renowned judges for their knowledge and creativity.



    Annual Day

    The Shikshiyan School celebrated its 4th Annual Day “The Rainbow Boulevard” on 21st November 2015 at the lush and green School Campus.

    The programme commenced with the lamp lightening ceremony by the Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar which was followed by a variety of traditional and International dances, plays and skits etc. The students of all classes showcased their talents through mesmerizing performances.

    As the name “The Rainbow Boulevard” Suggests, the evening was soaked in vibrant colours expressing joy, harmony and togetherness.

    Thai Dance (Thousands Hands), Chinese Fan Dance, Umbrella Dance were some of the International Dances accompanied by the traditional dances like Goan Boat dance, Bhangra, Patriotic dance, Raas, Rajasthani dance etc. The senior students also graced the audience with a skit on corruption and an English Play. The highlight of the program was a ballet on “Naari Sashaktikaran” (Women Empowernment) where students exhibited the various forms of Devi through dances and narration. The awareness regarding protecting the girl child and bringing about gender equality in all spheres was conveyed to the audience. A well known Rock Band ‘Abdutah’ got the audience tapping their feet to the tunes through their guest performance.

    The program ended with the Annual Report and the vote of Thanks.



    Christmas Celebration

    Soaking in the spirit of Christmas, tiny tots of The Shikshiyan School celebrated the festival in the school campus on 24th Dec 2015. The entire campus was festooned with colorful streamers and balloons and a brightly decorated Christmas tree. Overriding every other emotion, a wave of cheer enveloped the school. Depicting the true essence of love, joy and peace children sang the carols followed by dance and various cultural programmes and a special assembly.



    New Year Assembly

    The students of Shikshiyan graced the occasion of New Year with a special assembly. The students of class VI presented the assembly where they told about the history of New Year, how and when it is celebrated and the different ways of celebrating it. Students also come up with their New Year Resolutions and how they would implement them.
    The Principal Mrs. Geeta Dagar briefed the students about the occasion and how to make the New Year more meaningful and worthy.



    Annual Prize Distribution
